I have arrived safely in Budapest, and I have already begun exploring and stepping out of my comfort zone. Sitting down to a restaurant and ordering food when you don’t speak the language, sharing hostel bathrooms with girls from around the world, attempting to understand foreign currency–all of these things have made me uncomfortable in the best way possible.
It’s amazing to be surrounded by people who are all speaking different languages and to realize that there are so many people in the world with which you are not familiar or even aware of. Just sitting in the many airports, listening to people call their loved ones and tell them they have arrived safely, makes me thankful for the opportunity to see a whole new side of the world.
Tomorrow is our class orientation, so more later.
